THE VINTAGE: The 2016 growing season kicked off with much needed winter rains, followed by an even growing season with few heat spikes. Despite the nearly ideal conditions, it was still an early and quick harvest.
THE CRAFTING: Grapes for our Rosé were harvested from key vineyards during the early morning hours from September 23rd to October 4th. A few days after fermentation began, the bright pink juice was separated from the skins and moved to stainless steel tanks to complete fermentation.
THE TASTING: Since its debut in 2014, our Huge Bear Rosé has been a fan favorite. The 2016 will not disappoint! An engaging blend of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon, with nearly equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc, our saignee style of Rosé is lively and bright. Its inviting and vibrant pink hue is followed by engaging aromas of alpine strawberry, red raspberry, rhubarb, and pomegranate. With each sip enjoy racy acidity and appealing flavors of white peach, tangerine and fresh strawberry.
THE PAIRING: With a richness derived from the blend of bold red grapes, coupled with bright acidity and complex fruit aromas, our Rosé is a wine easily paired with grilled hamburgers, seafood salads, or your favorite flavor of potato chips.
