This special release wine was fermented on the skins for 10 days then pressed to new and used Taransaud French oak and aged for 19 months. It underwent full native- yeast malolactic fermentation.

THE TASTING: Our Ursa Gigantes is an excellent embodiment of the vintage, delivering nuanced aromas, finesse, supple tannins. This wine displays persistent notes of chocolate covered raspberries, blueberries, tobacco, graphite, and violets. There is a peppery earthiness that underscores the dark fruit. All the components of this wine are very well aligned; it possesses great structure and integrated tannins.

THE PAIRING: This wine will easily hold your interest should you drink it on its own. It will also match with a number of hearty dishes. Consider foods that include spicy or earthy notes. We enjoy this with homemade pizza with spicy sausage, arugula, and wild mushrooms.
